What Causes Intermittent Burning Sensation In Upper Abdomen And Nausea?

I have been experiencing severe burning in my upper abdomen- on and off- for about 3 weeks now. I had similar pain a few months ago but it went away. This time it is a lot worse- the burning feeling makes me nauseous and I therefore I dont want to eat anything. The problem is I feel hungry all the time, like I have hunger pains and that makes the burning feeling worse. Along with these symptoms I have also started experiencing dizziness and a week ago I fainted at work. My colleagues thought it might be my blood pressure- but I had it tested and its fine. I had low iron levels about a year ago but havent been taking my iron supplements so they suggested it might be anaemia. Im not sure if these symptoma could be related- my guess is I have an ulcer? My family has a history of ulcers so it is a possibility. Any advise would be appeciated! Thanks (I am a 25 year old female, if that helps). -Ally

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum.
I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.

Brief Answer :
These are definitely symptoms of Peptic Ulcer.

Detailed Answer :
As a physician I would like to tell you that all of the symptoms you are describing points strongly to Gastric ulcer disease. Thus I would recommend that you visit your physician as early as possible to get the checkup done and to get started on medication.

Also, many oral Iron supplements can aggravate the acidity with constipation in many of the patient. coupled with it your avoidance of food dur to burning of abdomen might have lead to weakness. So I suggest that you should also get the blood workup done.

Thanks for Trusting & Posting your Query on this forum.
Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question.
Have a nice Day.

Regards,
Dr.Abhijeet
