I have had my period twice this month and I felt cramps but when I don t really have a lot of blood kinda like I am spotting but it is dark on the pad and I only see blood when I go to the bathroom and I was wondering if I should take a pregnancy test even though I used a condom whenever I had sex. And it never broke
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Inter-menstrual bleeding could happen normally also and you need not be worried about it. However, if it continues to happen, then you need to get it evaluated for the cause and get it treated accordingly. The cause could be one among the following: 1. a growth in your uterus or cervix 2. stress 3. change in medication 4. miscarriage 5. vaginal dryness 6. hormone imbalance 7. cancer You may wait and take urine pregnancy test if your periods gets delayed beyond a week, in case you are suspecting that pregnancy could have happened. If such bleeding episodes happen again and again, kindly consult Gynaecologist by undertaking an ultrasound scan of the abdomen for clinical evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. Wish you good health. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S. MBBS., MD.
