Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 54 year old woman who still has periods each month. I have noticed that I bleed between them but it is very little, more if sexual. I/m not due for a check up till August. My family has history of uterus cancer, but I had an altersound 2 years ago and it was normal. Should I be concerned?
Hello,my name is dr,Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern. Irregular menstrual periods (metrorrhagia) can be due to -benign growths in the cervix, such as cervical polyps. -Metrorrhagia can also be caused by infections of the uterus (endometritis) -use of birth control pills (oral contraceptives). Treatment for irregular vaginal bleeding depends on the underlying cause. Hope my answer was helpful,if you have any other question I will be glad to answer, thanks!
