What Causes Inter Menstrual Bleeding?

My menstrual cycles are regularly the middle of the month, every month. During the middle of July, I had my cycle for 7 days. But, towards the end of July I had a light period (spotting) for one day. I only used one pad and it barely had anything on it. Started out as a bright red then brownish in color. Why did I have my period twice in one month? Today I m having light cramps. I took a pregnancy test a few days after the spotting ended but it was negative. What does this mean? I m wasn t supposed to have my cycle again until the middle of August.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is the pregnancy being suspected then it is not likely but such irregular menses could be due to change in hormone level it may be due to age too, over all it is nothing to worry unless have some pathology and for that you have to see the gynecologist hope this information helps.
