Persistent itching is uncomfortable and leads to excessive scratching, which can cause infection, discomfort, and pain. Avoid touching and scratching. Control your blood glucose levels to normal at all costs. Itching is often a symptom of diabetic polyneuropathy or peripheral neuropathy, a condition that develops when diabetes leads to nerve damage. Get clinically examined by a neurologist, get all required blood, imaging and Nerve conduction tests done. Get treated. Side effects of doxycycline is rash with flat lesions, itching and other symptoms. Since you are uncomfortable you should consult with your treating doctor so that the medicine can be replaced with another that suits you better.
