What Causes Insomnia Along With Back And Neck Pain?

Last year, in the nine month school schedule, I missed 17 days of work. This year I am already on my 19th day. I have extreme insomnia not helped by pills (have tried three prescriptions), pain in my back, neck and shoulders that is severe most days. Also, pain in my leg joints that is moderate most days. The pain is so far and constant that I am now on nausea medicine also as well as naproxin. I have anxiety in which I was prescribed 2 years ago and the dosages continue to increase. I have medication for depression that has also been raised over the past two years. Not daily, but often, I have pain and numbness in my arms.

hi,

thank you for providing the brief history of you.

A thorough neuromuscular assessment is advised.

As mentioned by you, you are on depression drugs and have insomia along with pain in back, neck and shoulders. Also you have pain and numbness in the arms.

As by reading the depression drugs and insomia it is clear to help you here is, that due to the fatigue in the muscles you are not able to propel the body and this is one factor for leading to pain. Second, the depression drug has one of the side effect as back pain, which is common as the pharmacokinetics of the drug is such. So you need to take immense rest will little general exercises. Also, a thorough neuromuscular assessment is advised since you have numbness in the arms, but as per my understanding with you history i feel it is related to your insomia and depression drugs.

Scheduling an appointment with a psychiatrist and later stages a physical therapist, you can come out of the situation.

I myself had such issues to suffer with but will physical therapy and the help of psychiatrist i am fine now. In my clinical experience i have been seeing such cases now very often and i advise them the same. The process is little longer but success is always waiting.
