What Causes Inhalation Of Pravastatin Accidentally?

i accidentally inhaled my pravastatin tablet when taking my meds. Was not able to catch my breath for a minute, but finally think it went on into my lungs or an area where I could breathe but I could not ever cough it up. Will there be any side effects now that I can breathe now?

Although the tablet was not made to be administered through the respiratory passage. But there will be little to no harm.

There are two aspects of such cases:-

1. A foreign body in respiratory passageway:-
It has passed the point of obstruction so there is no harm.

2. The drug effects in the respiratory system:-
This statin drug may cause some irritative effects locally that the body has the ability to wall off and there will be not much harm. Some of the portion of the drug will just dissolve and assimilate into the blood stream and will work the same way as if taken through mouth but with a lesser than usual dose.

Precaution:-
Now don't take an extra tablet by mouth. Skip this dose and carry it on on regular basis from the next dose time.
