Yes, it looks like hypertrophied tongue papillae and if it is sore then it can be most probably due to some sort of traumatic
injury that is being implicated to the tongue tip..
You might be having any sharp edge of the teeth that must be rubbing against the tongue tip causing inflammation and due to inflammation there is enlargement of the tongue papillae..
Other causes can be tongue biting habit or taking plenty of irritant hot and spicy foods..
Although it is not serious and can resolve with ease..
You should first of all take soft and non irritant foods.
You should start gargling with warm salt water..
Apply ice over your tongue tip, it will reduce inflammation and pain..
Start taking
lysine and Vitamin B complex..
Wait for another one week and watch for improvement..
If still there is no improvement
consult a Dentist and get a clinical examination done..
