What Causes Inflammation On The Face While On Blood Pressure Medication?

My friend is a 77 year old male in excellent condition whose face turns red and feels hot to him several times a day. He takes his blood pressure after feeling hot but it is normal. The only medication he takes is a very low dose for his blood pressure.
