What Causes Indigestion Along With Diarrhea And Constipation?

Hello My name is Toni and I will be turning 60 this year - married white female. I have been healthy most of my life until the past few years. I have been to several doctors and I keep getting a new pill to take and pay my co pay and get a new appointment. Quick summary: Age 25 diagnosed with hiatial hernia - controlled with Prescription drugs for several years until the drug was take off the covered list. I could not afford over the counter so I took tums or others when needed. I kept it under control by food choice but sometimes I have indigestion with either diahrea or constipation. I saw a specialist in internal medicine that gave me prescription prilosec and again the insurance company took it off the covered market. I have to take many prilosec a day to be able to work, eat, etc, Should I continue with each symptom you can tell if all of my problems may be connected and if there are any causes would make the other

Thanks for putting up your query over here.
Symptoms of alternate diarrheoa and constipation may be because of irritable bowel syndrome ,inflammatory bowel disease or malignant changes in intestine.
You need to visit a gastroenterologist for further assessment .You may require basic blood tests,colonoscopy and USG abdo.Further management will depend upon the reports of investigations.Also the status and degree of hiatus hernia needs to be assessed as surgical intervention may be needed in certain cases.
Other proton pump inhibitors like omeprazole / rabeprazole may be taken for indigestion.
Restrict alcohol and caffeine intake if any such habit present.
Increase intake of fresh fruits & vegetables for vitamins and anti oxidants.Keep body weight within control.
