What Causes Increased Heart Rate While Doing Exercise?

56 year old type 2 223 lbs started working out at gym try to burn 1200 cal every day blood pressure witout meds is 138/82 after excersice 135/71 is this normal also I have been hitting pulse rate up to 170 while doing cardio is this ok
