What Causes Increase In Endometrium Thickness After An Abortion?
I had undergone a medical abortion using pills. After 15 days of abortion my endometrium layer thickness is 11 mm. Should i go for surgical intervention for removal of extra thickness. My bleeding has stopped. I have no pain and no other complications. I have consulted a radiologist whose report tells uterus is in normal shape,size,echtexture and measures 74*56*32 endometrial thickness is 11 mm,mild vascularity on Doppler exam present. no adnexal mass lesion seen Both ovaries appear normal in shape, position and echotexture. No evidence of free liquid in pelvis.

An endometrial thickness of 11mm is completely normal in a reproductive aged woman after delivery of a pregnancy (via abortion or childbirth). So there is no reason you need to schedule any type of procedure, especially if you have no bleeding or pain. The thickness of your uterine lining can reach even 2-2.5 cm right before menstruation when you're not pregnant, as the endometrium is the tissue that builds up to be shed as menstrual flow.
