It s important to follow a strict diet in order to avoid such uncomfortable symptoms. Have a plant based diet as often as possible. Consume soft bland easily digestible food. Limit intake of fatty spicy food, alcohol and red meat. Take your antacid medication half an hour before food especially if you are going out to eat. Donot lie down immediately after a meal. Stress can also cause increased gastric acid production. Practice some relaxation exercises. All of these will help you with acidity in the long run.
