What Causes Incomplete Abortion Inspite Of Taking Arthrotec?

Hi, Please I am 5weeks2days pregnant. The pharmacist gave me arthrotec75 to induce an abortion. I took the pills on the 20th by 9pm. I started bleeding and passing clothes from 5 am on the 21st and by 8pm after I took a bath the bleeding has just stopped till today 22nd. Pls am worried.

I understand your concern.
Arthrotec 75 contains a combination of Diclofenac Sodium and Misoprostol. This medication is commonly used for treating arthritis.
However, Misoprostol is used for inducing abortions in pregnancy less than 12 weeks.
It is always advisable to take abortion pills under medical supervision.
Based on your description, it appears that abortion has taken place. But, it is difficult to predict weather all the products of conception has been expelled or not. For this, it would be better for you to consult Gynecologist and get examined clinically and then undergo a ultrasound abdomen scan to make sure all the contents have been expelled out completely.

As you had bleeding for about 15 hours after taking arthrotec 75 , there are no chances of pregnancy left. Nothing to worry now. Have your urine tested for pregnancy.
