What Causes Impairment Of Peripheral Vision After Eye Injury?

I hit my eye on a ladder when I was getting off a bunk bed, I have a large hematoma in my left eye, I can see clearly when I look straight ahead but my peripheral vision on left side is impaired. My eye is very red and the clot is large should I go to emergency room

Thanks for your question.

After going through your question, I can understand your concern.

You should consult ophthalmologist immediately for detailed clinical evaluation and field charting (perimetry).

There may be possibility of injury to optic nerve or retina or there may be restriction of eye movement due to haematoma.

Depending upon examination there may be need for brain imaging with MRI of orbit.
