What Causes Hot Flashes During Post Menopausal Phase?

Hello doctor,I am 56 years old. I started having hot flashes( all the time-day and night) since last year. I have been in menopause for 5-6 years, yet, they started last year. Is that common? Two years ago, I have been diagnosed with Sjogren s syndrome and I have started taking Plaquenil. After one year of taking the medication, the hot flashes appeared. There s no other change than that. Is this possible to be a resul trom the medication or the disease itself? Or is it a menopause? I am still taking Plaquenil. Thank you in advance. My e-mail is:YYYY@YYYY Regards, Christina

Hi, I think you are experiencing post menopausal symptoms. Hot flushes are a very common menopausal symptom. you can take isoflavones supplements to reduce this. If it doesn't work then you can go for hormonal therapy.
