What Causes Holes In The Throat Post Tonsillectomy?
I have a tonsillectomy 2 weeks ago, however yesterday a hole developed in one of the flaps of skin in the back of my throat. It is about the size of a pencil eraser tip. I have my second post-op appointment in 2 days. Should I go to the doctor sooner? What will the treatment be?
Hi, you first calm down. the tonsil is tightly packed between anterior and posterior pillars forming the front and back walls. in surgery when they approach the superior pole chances of piercing posterior wall is there due to adhesions. post operatively till it heals completely it may be seen as a hole. hope i cleard your anxity about the hole your Dr will clear your doubts when he reviews.
