What Causes Hoarsness Of Voice?

Hi , I have developed hoarsness of voice since April . Symptoms, after continuous speaking in a meeting or group conversation for say a couple of hours in a day, i start feeling horaseness of voice and feel stress in my throat. There is no pain but discomfort . I saw an ENT spl who said there was some inflamation of vocal cords / pharyngytes and mentioned No Ck in the prescription. Prescrobed tab L Montus 1OD for 3 weeks and combflam 1BD for 3 D.. I again got myself examined after a month and he mentioned a bit of inflamation and suggested voice control/ rest and a 2 day course of medrol 16mg. It has been on and off for me for last 6 months and i have same symptoms avery now and then. At work everyone needs to talk a bit and if i have a conversation of 1-2 hours i satrt feeling hoarsness and stress. I am prone to throat infections at every change of weather .What should be my course of action ? regards

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

well , first thing is you will actually have to give your voice some rest and this means no talking at all , since you have to give your vocal cords some time to heal. the doctor has given you the right medications and i think you should continue them. i cam also recommend that you meet a speech therapist , he will teach you some exercises which will help you.
take care!
