What Causes Hoarseness Of Voice?

I have lost a friend to throat cancer some years ago, the symptom I noticed with him was his deepening gravely voice. I have noticed over several months that my voice has been changing. First it just seemed to be getting deeper and I ignored it for some time. Lately, I can t tell you how long but for awhile it has been getting worse. It is deep, gravely often, sometimes disappears while I am speaking. I don t have sore throats or sores that can be seen. I am worried and did mention it to my primary Dr. who just set me up with an ENT who I see on April 20th. Does it sound like cancer and am I too late?

HI
Well come to HCM
Such voice changes may be due to allergic condition or hyperacidity and this need to be ruled out first and need to be treated accordingly if these fails to work then condition need to be investigated for differential diagnosis and these includes, biopsy, CT or MRI, PET scan imaging then and then this can be diagnosed if it is malignancy or not ? hope this information helps, take care have a nice day.
