I m a care giver to an 85 year old male who has heart and kidney issues and I have had what II think are very good cardiologist attending to him. He has had stinst put in ove an year ago but his systolic is hitting 191 or 199 or 202 and up to 215 almost every day at some time or another. I then give him an oral clonidine which brings is down over about 5 hours to maybe 160ish at best but usually just lowers it to 170 s. He is on amlopine besolate, benazaprine hcl 20mg now furosemide 20 and he wears a clonodien patch #3. He is afro American and I have been told that Afro Americans do not seem to get the benefit (It is not efficascous for them) This seems to be appearing to be the case as his doctor has raised the patch doses from 1 to 2 them to 3 and the added emergency oral Clonodine to his regimen. And his blood systolic is higher than before. But his doctor said he had never heard of that. Do you know if this race could be an issue as far as that drug working as it should?
