Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. I just read through your question.
The most likely diagnosis is a harmless viral illness. These typically resolve kn their own after 7-10 days. However, the fever will usually resolve after 2-3 days. Because of the prolonged fever, I recommend consulting with your doctor so the correct diagnosis can be made. If it is determined that breathing treatments are necessary, then you can go ahead and do it. Until then, I recommend waiting until an exam.
