What Causes High Blood Pressure?

What can cause a spike in blood pressure? I am currently on Lisinopril/HCT- 10MG, yet my b/p will spike very high-(204/110, higher sometimes) this occurs often. What can/should I do when this happens? After the spike in b/p my head will still hurt for day after. I am a 44yr old female who has also had Coarcation of the aorta, a 3cm aneurysm that was found about 6months ago.Can these spikes in b/p cause aneurysm to get bigger?

Your spikes in blood pressure is directly related to co arctation of aorta..you should have regular blood pressure monitoring,ECG,2D ECHO...You may need anti hypertensive dose increase.avoid strain and anxiety.consult your cardiologist for follow up.thankyou
