I went in to the doctors today with UTI symptoms and they said I had a very high white blood cell count. I took my first Bactrim at 11am and its now 7:35pm and my back right above my tail bone has started to hurt and is swelling. Any idea why this is happening??

Dear,
High WBC count is due to the Urinary tract infection.
As your doctor said, Tab.bactrim is an Antibiotic and will take care of the infection.
Secondly, the swelling over the tailbone is a totally different entity, unless you are allergic to Sulphur drugs ie Bactrim.
If you have any signs of an allergic reaction, like swelling, redness, itching etc, kindly stop the medication.
However, if you have had no problems with Bactrim before, you might not be allergic to the drug and can continue using it.
A sitz bath for three days and Tab.Advil will take care of the tail bone trouble.
Here is a link on how to take a sitz bath.
