My son is 3 he became very poorly temp of 39.9 an pains in head was in hosp for 3 days on drip an antibotics he had blood take that come back that his White blood cells 65 thousand an should only be 5-10 thousand there is this bad an how dangerous was this for him thanks Laura

any infection any where in the body may lead to raised total white blood cells.
But such a huge rise in wbc count may also be seen in rare conditions like leukemia which can be ruled out by bone marrow biopsy. better take a referral from oncologist.
