What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Switching From Norethisterone To Cerazette?

My daughter has been to see a gynecologist who recommended a progesterone only pill because shes had two 24 day cycles. She was on norethisterone and went on cerazette. She stopped one and started the other. 4 days later has had a really heavy period and stomach cramps. Should she have stopped the norethisterone straight away

Hi I think she can be having a breakthrough bleeding as she continued to take the pill. She can take some medicines like tranexamic acid 500mg 3 times per day for 3 to 5 days to stop the bleeding. Hope it helps.
