What Causes Heavy Mucus In Throat?

I am having these symptoms: Heavy mucus in throat, with a choking effect that want seem to go away. I am in my late 40 s and have suffered from what may be a bacteria infection, while possible going through other female changes, so it s hard for me to know what may be the cause. I trying to figure out if this a thyroid or infection of some sort.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi ,
Thank for asking to HCM.

Your clinical history is suggestive of post nasal discharge due to sinusitis .

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice you
Plenty of fluids ,
Steam Inhalation twice daily, Saline nasal spray thrice daily ,
Antihistaminic levocetirizine + Montelukast combination ,&
antibiotic Ofloxacin + ornidazole after meal .

You can discuss this with your treating doctor.

Hope this answer helpful to you . If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.
