What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding?

Hi i am having heavy blood flow on third day of my period which usually never happens. My body is feeling really weak to walk and i feel like im breathing heavily since whole day. Iwasn t able to get out of bed as my head would feel like it cant wake up or like it had no energy. I had to force myself to wake up and im still feeling like i have no energy at all. I had some chills too and my head was a little hot too i didn t check my temperature. I just feel like i can sleep if i wont have to get up for any reason since its taking a lot of effort to get up

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Heavy bleeding leads to blood loss from the body and it leads to symptoms like lethargy, tiredness and weakness.
If you having fever and chills, you may be suffering from some infection.
If the blood loss is unusually more, then you should consult an OBGYN specialist as soon as possible so that you can be properly examined, investigated and treated. A physician consultation should be done for fever, if present.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
