What Causes Heaviness In Chest With Labored Breathing When Drinking Alcohol?

My wife when she has a drink of alcohol which is seldom sometimes but not everytime she fels a heaviness in her chest labored breathing. There have been times when this occurred she has taken her inhaler two or three times back to back and on occasion aniexty medication may help ,there was this one instance where she got through it herself by concentrating on her breathing slower and settling herself down

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have heaviness in chest with labored breathing after drinking alcohol . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like , but in your case the symptoms are due to allergic reaction to some ingredients of alcohol like malt and sulphites . The symptoms like headache also occur due to dehydration caused by alcohol . I would suggest you to drink plenty of water to flush out alcohol as quickly as possible and consult allergy specialist for proper treatment . For now take anti histamine like benadryl and drink warm water with lemon .
