Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related doubts

I can understand your concern. Sudden onset heart palpitations in 50 years of age should be evaluated properly. The palpitations could be occurring drug to some heart condition like arrhythmia. Get your ECG and ECHO done to rule out any cardiac cause for persisting palpitations. If that comes normal then most probable cause for heart palpitations is anxiety. In anxiety sudden palpitations are seen commonly. Visit a doctor for evaluation of palpitations.

Thanks, Hope this helps you.

Take care
