What Causes Heart Palpitations During Sleep?

during my sleep last night, I was awakened by a rapid heart beat. I stop taking Atenonol, after 6 years, as per my family physician recommended , due to my low blood pressure. I do not know if the fact I stopped taking the medication. This rapid heart beat has occurred on the occasion, during my sleep. Is this dangerous for a potential heart attack during my sleep?

Dear
I read your query and understand your concern
Palpitation aren't sign of heart attack and probably you are suffering them because of stoping beta blockers (atenolol)
As your blood pressure was low you have done well stopping atenolol but you need to take something else
In my opinion you should start nebivolol which will help you in avoiding palpitations and doesn't effect blood pressure
Hope I have been of help
Regards
