What Causes Heart Beat In Ear And Body Tremors?

When I was at work, I was talking to a co-worker about maybe changing jobs. We were both sitting down in my office and I was at my computer. My ears began hearing my heart beat, my coworker said I was shaking and another coworker, an MD, asked me the month and date. I did respond but was told later that I responded as if I were a robot. In addition, I kept starting at the clock on the wall in front of me. I m thinking it my have been a hypertensive attack....or may be I m just going nuts! Please advise. Thanks. Oh BTW, I m a fairly fit, 51 y/o, female, no kids, non-smoker, drink socially (red wine).

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read and understood the incidence that happened with you of the shaking, staring, not remembering what happened, hearing if the heart beats by you.
This can occur in the following condition.
A form of an epilepsy.
Syncope attach.
Sudden rise in the blood pressure.

I would advise you in such a situation the following considering your gender as female and age of 51:
You may be in the peri-menopausal stage hence the hormones can play funny things. Hence consult the Gynecologist and get a reference for a Neurologist.
MRI of the brain and mastoid should help either to prove a causative factor or rule out SOL.
Neurologist's opinion and any further relevant tests.
Getting a proper diagnosis is he most important part of the management of any disease.
