My six year old daughter has had chronic headaches for two years. She often has a stomach ache and sore throat as well. She had her tonsils and adnoids out in jan 2010 - after a sleep study we were told she had mild sleep apnea. She also had chronic sinus infections and snored very loudly. This promtpted the surgery. She no longer has the sinus infections and does not sound so stuffed at night but her headaches have not gotten better at all. Sometimes she also complains that her ears hurt as well. She has had an MRI and it is clear. She was on periactin twice and it did nothing at all for the headaches. Then she was on topomax ( I was not happy with this due to the potential side effects but we needed to try to alleviate the headaches as they are negatively impacting her quality of life). at school on the playground she will often just sit on the picnic bench and watch the other girls if they are running around because running makes her headache worse. Very sad....... She has a headache every single day. The sore throat and stomach ache come and go throughout the week. The ear pain is less frequent-every couple of weeks. She is also very tired. She is a joy to be around - full of life and the sweetest little girl. I have taken her to doctor after doctor and I still can t help her. I am at a loss. Just in the past few weeks she seems thirstiest than normal......she is not too thin - she is actually a very healthy weight according to her doctor.
