What Causes Headache And Weakness In Case Of Alcohol Withdrawal?

Hi I am 25 and have been drinking two/three bottles of wine for the past at least 3 years. Prior to that I was drinking on a daily basis as well. 1 to two atleast since I was roughly 18. Now I suffer from seizures and really want to give up. I have not had any alcohol for just over hours now. Shakings are there (I usually get them after a few hours). I hardly slept because I was hot, then cold and my heart felt like it was going to explode! Feeling very week, slight headache which is now more or less gone. I have taken just 1 tablet of libruim (which I should ve been taking more of a few times a day, but I am trying to make them last. I also took 1x 500MG of flucloxacillin. I can t find any info on the link with that drug and alcohol withdrawal. Am I doing the right thing? I feel very weak and restless, can hardly eat and am living basically off water but am too weak to leave the house to be seen to and don t think it s so extreme to call an ambulance but with my severe alcohol dependency and alcohol related seizures I worry for my life!!!

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
Your description suggest that you are facing alcohol withdrawl symptoms.
The dose of librium has to be around 100mg in a day. But its not be taken on your own and taken after liver function tests have been done. Visit a psychiatrist for treatment as alcohol withdrawl if ignored can be life threatening.
Flucloxacillin has nothing to do with alcohol withdrawl.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks.
