What Causes Headache And Dizziness After A Head Injury?

Hello, I had a fall a week ago and hit my head on the left side forehead, I was out for a short time, was sick only once within 12 hours, now I m eating ok but have a small problem focusing in my left eye which sends me a little dizzy, still having mild headache but taking medication (paracetamol) and doctor gave me some anti-inflammatory and anti-biotics. I am resting a lot but the bump on my head is taking its time to go down. I am due to fly in 4 days but I m scared could you confirm if I am able to fly please? Regards, Carol

General Surgeon 's  Response
It is obvious that you have sustained a scalp contusion and possibly mild concussion of the brain. That is the reason you are having these symptoms you have described. It would resolve in 7 to 10 days. Rest is important. If it is short flight, then that is fine. Any long distance flight over 4 hours or so may be avoided till complete resolution of your discomfort. If an MRI brain as not been taken , please get this done. The doctor could then be in a good position to advise you on the duration of rest you have to take.
