What Causes Headache Along With Vein Sticking Out On Temple?

My husband developed a headache (6-7 on a 10 point scale) last night that would not go away with Tylenol. It finally subsided today to a (2-3) but we both noticed a vein sticking out on his right temple. Should we be concerned? Blood pressure is normal, no other symptoms.
