What Causes Head Cold, Fever And Cough With Excess Mucus In The Throat?
Hello, I had a head cold last week. Lots of mucus and coughing but I really didn t feel bad. It s been gone a couple of days. Today I woke up feeling terrible. Aching all over, recent temp is 102.4°. No appetite which is extremely odd for me. My ears are ringing and my head feels like a balloon. I m so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open. I have MS so I ve been told my immune system could be compromised. Maybe so, but I haven t had more than a head cold in 13 years. I inject Avonex weekly and I m wondering if I should hold off this week. I ve been extremely well controlled for 13 years now. I usually get a fever from the interferon so I m hypothesizing that perhaps my shot would burn out whatever is making me sick.....opinion?
avonex injections do help in controlling relapses in multiple sclerosis. but long term side effects can also be debilitating. The medicine pushes down our blood counts by depressing the bone marrow. low resistance could be a reason for your ear and sinus infection. the increase in mucus and fever could be a part of the infection. you must go for a detailed blood check especially for blood counts and a liver function test. discontinue the avonex if the counts are abnormal.
