What Causes Hard Painful Lump In Front Of Ear And Headache?
I just discovered a hard, movable dump in front of my ear and perfectly aligned with my jaw line. It hurts to the touch. I'm not sure what it is, I've read that it could be a swollen or enlarged lymph node. Like I said, I just discovered it. Basically like five minutes ago. Since I touched it and moved it around, I've gotten a headache from it. Help?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that you have a swollen preauricular lymph node and the most common cause of it is infected in head and neck region and is known as Reactionary Lymphadenopathy and as there is pain also the most common cause is infection.. Headache is radiating pain from lymph node.. You should consult a General Physician or an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and if infection is suspected antibiotics can be advised.. But if the lymph nodes does not resolve with medicines a Biopsy of the lymph nodes can be done to confirm the cause like Lymphoma and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can take Ibuprofen for pain and do warm compresses over lymph nodes.. Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora.
