What Causes Hard Lumps In A Vein?

I have a vein on the top of my left wrist which has a few hard lumps in it and it has started to ache. I can't get in to see my Dr until end of week. Should I be concerned. I have emerg section 6 weeks ago and I ad a cannula in this hand that weakened and had to be taken out but the vein is not near the cannula site.

You could be suffering from Thrombophlebitis of the vein which was cannulated. It will get relieved over a period of a few weeks. You can apply a crepe bandage for compression and Heparin ointment over the affected vein twice daily and take oral anti-inflammatory medicines like Paracetamol or Diclofenac sodium twice daily till the pain persists.
Take care,
Dr Rishi from New Delhi, India.
