last year I noticed I had hard lumps behind both ears. When I showed them a doctor he said they were sebaceous cysts. Some time later I became ill and was hospitalised with ITP and Haemolytic Anaemia. I was treated with steroids.and the cysts disappeared. Some weeks ago I noticed that the cysts are back. they are quite hard but are not painful. Can you give me any advice.
Hi. Thanks for your query. As per the history and finding of hte Doctor if these are sebaceous cyst or may be lymph nodes, they did get smaller with treatment and since you are now suffering from ITP it is better to wait and watch and go for excision if your ITP is under control. Till then you can go for high resolution ultrasonography and FNAC if lymph nodes are suspected to get a diagnosis as to why they are enlarging, and if the report is non-specific, you can just forget at the moment, and keep under observation.
