What Causes Hard Lump In Breast Postpartum?

I had a baby 9 months ago. I pumped for about a month. Now about a month and a half ago all of a sudden I have a golf ball size lump in my right breast at the top. It doesn't hurt but is hard. My baby is always pushing and pinching and at first I thought maybe he damaged some tissue but it isn't going away. I will make an appointment tomorrow but just wondering with having a baby if it could be something else?

Welcome to health care magic.

1.Lump in the breast during or after the lactation are due to ductal ectasia. Not due to the baby pushing or pinching.
2.This happens due to the distal occlusion of the ducts.
3.However for confirmation - investigation of choice will be ultrasound examination.
4.Ultrasound scan will evaluate the presence of any lump / cyst / ductal dilatation its nature and source and extensions, in case of mass lesion FNAC - fine needle aspiration cytology for assessment of cell nature.
5.In case you have abruptly stopped breastfeeding you need to go for suction of the milk - before that get scanned for exact pathology. Good luck.
