What Causes Hard Area On Lips After Suturing It Due To Injury?
Hi I had a fall from the bike and my lower lip got badly hit.. tore quite deep. had to get it sutured. Its been 2.5 months there is no pain at the area but don't feel my lip the same like before.. when i touch it in the centre its a bit hard as well. Will my lip be normal like before. how long will it take.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that due to injury and then placement of the stitches the area has become hard due to scar formation as well as formation of fibrous tissue.. This makes the area hard and a bit rough..
Secondly the area might also become a slight numb due to damage to peripheral nerve endings due to injury as well as suture placement..
I would suggest you to do alternate warm and cool compresses over it.. Although the area might not become completely normal like before but there can be some level of improvement..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
