What Causes Hallucination And Confusion?

hi,,,,my 88yr old mother is experiencing intermittent halucinations & confusion..she seems to know the hallucinations are not real,..we are at a loss on what to do..she currently lives in a continuing care facility. could this be stroke related? a reaction to medications? what kind of professional help should we be seeking thank you for any guidance you can give us

This could be a reaction to medications or to some disturbance in her brain. It can happen with diseases like Alzheimer's disease or brain tumors. She needs to see a neurologist or a geriatric specialist to find the cause.
