What Causes Growling Sound In My Stomach While Taking Gout Medication?

My husband has had diarrhea for a week. Generally going to the bathroom 5-7 times a day. Yesterday his stomach started making loud gurgling sounds I can hear over the tv. He has gas and has been burping a lot. He is very uncomfortable. He just had a gout flare up today as well and has started his gout medications. What can be wrong. Can the 2 be related?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Gastritis is common side effect of most of the medication. Increased acid can result in loose stool. Gargling sound are due to increased bowel movements.

Other cause for your symptom would be incomplete bowel obstruction. Consult your doctor for examination and may need X-ray abdome or ultrasound for confirming condition.

Regards
