Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Gastritis And Pain In The Upper Back Side?
I was diagnosed with hiatal hernia more than 10 years ago. Today, I am experiencing the same feeling I did with the H/H symptoms. I have the oddest feeling as if someone punched me in my mid abdomen and almost feel either gassy or empty inside. I've been having diarrhea all night and now having pain right upper back side continuing front under breast/rib bone area. Should I go to the ER or take something over the counter? I've been drinking hot tea no sugar, is this ok?
How was your Hiatus hernia treated was it surgical treatment or medical treatment you have not mentioned about your weight and lifestyle habits which contributes to hiatus hernia . Since your symptoms are not very specific .It could mean anything from a Gastritis , GERD , Gall bladder and also a pancreatic problem since you said the pain is in the back also. So please go to the ER and get evaluated by a Gastroenterologist dr . I n the meantime eat only home cooked food , more of plant based , no diary and less oil and spicy .No soft drinks , no smoking and alcohol all of them can cause GERD. Hope this helps you
