What Causes Gallbladder To Shrink?

My girlfriend went to the Hospital the other day and they said her gallbladder is the size of a fart. but it may be because she had just ate 2 hours before.. What causes gallbladders to shrink? And she thinks that it isnt her gallbladder at all and is her kidneys because the pain is now moving to the back near her kidneys but still in the original spot with stabbing pains near her gallbladder. What do you think?

Hi and welcome.
Gallbodader shrinks during the day and it depends on meal that person has taken. fats may cause gallbladder enlargement and fasting may cause shrinkage. Pain is usually caused by gallbaldder stones and this should be seen on ultrasound. So if there are no stones then pain is caused by something else.
Wish you good health. Regards
