I have been taking Cimbalta for muscle pain for the last two weeks and increased my dosage to two pills per day. I started experiencing a gagging feeling as if my throat was closing. I experienced this before with Paxil, wellbutrin and Hyzzar. What chemical is in all of these medications that make me gag?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have gagging feeling in throat which is due to granular pharyngitis or upper respiratory tract infection. Allergic reaction or acid reflux can also cause such symptoms. I would suggest you to avoid eating and drinking acidic , spicy and hot food and beverages . Do warm saline gargles. You should take more fibres in diet along with fluids. You should take proper course of antibiotics along with throat lozenges. If condition doesn't get better in 2-3 days then consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and go for swab test. Go for sputum test as well if required and start treatment as per proper diagnosis. Sip warm water after every few minutes.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
