What Causes Frequent Urination?

I have frequent urination. The flow is extremely slow. I average getting up at least 3-5 times a night. What could this mean. I am relatively healthy, no chance of pregnant. I see my doctor 2-3 times a year for blood work since I have a thyroid condition. Low thyroid.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Possibilities are urinary tract infection or diabetes. Women suffer more frequently from recurrent UTI than men because of their shorter urethra and proximity of urethral opening to anus.
Are you monitoring your status of thyroid function?
Serum TSH is monitored annually once you are on a stable dose of levothyroxine.
Advice
1.     Avoid drinking alcohol, tea, coffee or cola as these substances irritate urinary bladder
2.     Consume less water in the evening but drink at least 3 liters of water in the day time
3.     Empty your bladder while going to bed at night
4.     Eating more fruit and fiber to avoid constipation which can put pressure on the bladder urging to urinate
5.     Investigations
a.     R/E of urine
b.     C/S of urine
c.     Total & differential count of WBC
d.     Blood sugar (F & PP)
e.     Serum TSH
Thanks
