Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 63years old. I am suffering from diabetic from 20years. I am using glimestar m1 morning one and night 1 But i am suffering from frequent urination. Please advice me to this. If I have to change the drug please advice me what medicine I have to take.
dear, frequent urination( polydipsia) is a common symptoms in diabetics. In diabetes the blood sugar level is high than usual. the Blood sugar levels contribute directly to the Plasmaosmolarity. Kidney has to maintain plasma osmolarity to normal level. An increase in the plasma osmolarity will make kidney excrete the electrolyte and excess of glucose from blood into the urine. Therefore because there is increased plasma osmolarity in diabetics, kidneys will produce more urine to excrete the excess glucose to normalise the plasma osmolarity. There is also accompanied increase in thirst. It does indicate that one's blood sugar level are not maintained normal.
hope to have clarified your query. thank you
