What Causes Frequent Urge To Urinate In A Child?

My daughter has had the urge to urinate for the last 2 months. There is no bacteria in urine, sugar is fine, kidneys and bladder working fine. The doctor gave her medicine for an urinary infection. This seemed to help. Now we are having the problems again. She will scream if we are in the car too long because she "can't hold it". She does hold it, but throws a huge fit. This is a 4 year old that doesn't throw fits. It is heartbreaking. What is wrong with her?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic forum
Usually this is due to an ongoing UTI. The response to antibiotics also suggest the same.
Urine routine examination may not always pick up UTI.a urine culture and sensitivity testing might help.this will also give idea about the most appropriate antibiotic, which when given in full course might be helpful.
If the problem still persist, we have to evaluate for any urinary tract anomaly like vesico ureteric reflux.a urologist can offer help in this regard.
Thank you.
