What Causes Frequent Nosebleeds?

For the past 2 months I have been having nose bleeds in the shower and it is always in the same nostril. Then it seems after a bit then a blood clot comes out and I continue to have the nose bleed. I then pinch my nose in the certain spot for about 5 mins until it stops. But I m only getting nose bleeds when I m in the shower?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of frequent nosebleeds. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like infection , trauma, allergic and nonallergic rhinitis , hypertension, use of blood thinning medications and alcohol abuse . But in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are either due to sinusitis mainly. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may check vitals, may order ECG, TMT and complete blood profile. For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and take steam thrice a day. You should maintain hygiene and do nasal saline rinses. Avoid touching or pricking nose with any sharp object.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
